2K Games has appointed a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to lead the development team at 31st Union, which is currently developing the anticipated third-person action-packed title known as Project Ethos.
Leadership Transition Comes After Lukewarm Response
Brinkman takes on the leadership position at the development studio following the departure of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to the game's lackluster early showing last fall.
On Wednesday, the company's top executive David Ismailer updated team members about this decision through an official communication, which highlighted that playtesting had shown the requirement for a distinct vision.
Ismailer expressed that the developers is now overhauling the project with a refreshed approach, aiming to satisfy gamer demands.
A Pattern of Strategic Recruitment
The news echoes a similar action taken by 2K Games in August, when they brought on Rod Fergusson from Blizzard to assist with the beloved franchise development group.
